We explore the colonial town of Cajamarca and the rich cloud forests surrounding Gocta Falls, teeming with birdlife including the Marvellous Spatuletail. From Lima, we fly to Cajamarca, taking time to explore the beautiful Spanish colonial architecture and remnants of a once powerful Inca empire, whose demise began here. We then make our way through the Andes into the Amazon River Basin and the outpost of Tarapoto, discovering one of the world’s highest waterfalls and rare birdlife along the way. The end of our adventure finds us back in Lima, where we have the opportunity to visit many of the smaller treasures of the Incas in the city’s renowned museums.
