You’ve explored the serene beaches of Normandy and had a sample of Brittany’s emerald coast – now continue the journey west to Brittany’s Pink Granite Coast, recognized as one of France’s most beautiful coastlines. We’ll walk seaside paths winding through massive granite formations, carved by wind and rain into unique and whimsical shapes. The pink hue of the rock casts a remarkable contrast to the emerald waters of the English Channel. This 3 day trip combines dramatic shoreline scenery, wide and welcoming beaches, and elegant lodging. We’ll also have the opportunity to take an afternoon nature cruise around the nearby islands.
Perros-Guirec and Ploumanac’h
After breakfast in Saint Malo, you’ll take a shuttle transfer two hours to the port village of Perros Guirec. This beautiful town, with its turquoise-hued waters, fine sand and pink granite coastline will be your home for the next two nights.
Upon arrival, you will meet your guide for a walk along the magnificent GR34, in this region nicknamed the “Sentier des Douaniers,” or Customs Officers’ Path, after the officers who once patrolled the coastline to catch smugglers. The GR leads you around the Ploumanac’h peninsula, through a maze of pink granite rock formations, shaped over time by natural erosion into strange and fantastical shapes. Breathtaking sea views are ever-present from the trail.
After the walk, enjoy an included nature cruise to the Sept Iles (Seven Islands) and learn about the local sea birds and coastal life in Perros Guirec - you may even get to see some seals and puffins!
Ile Renote Peninsula
This morning you'll take a 15-minute ride to Sainte Anne, You'll stop at a local boulangerie to select a sandwich, quiche or salad - and/or some mouth-watering pastries - to enjoy for lunch along your way today. Then you'll set out along a panoramic path along the coast, pausing if you like to enjoy the beautiful beaches along the way. You may choose to picnic along the way with views of the dark turquoise water dotted with fishing boats. At the end of the walk, you'll take a 20-minute ride back to Perros Guirec for another evening on your own.
Departure
This morning you’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then transfer by shuttle to either Lannion or Guingamp station for your onward journey.

Accommodations are as outlined in the itinerary, although we reserve the right to change these or the order visited should the need arise.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: Accommodations are based on double occupancy. A single supplement is paid by participants who specifically request single accommodations, subject to availability.
Single Supplement for Scheduled Group Departures. If you reserve at least 120 days prior to departure, you may be eligible for a reduced or free single supplement. This is generally limited to the first one or two solo travelers to reserve, and the reduction is outlined in the pricing for each trip. Free or reduced single supplements are not combinable with other offers or promotions.
If you are traveling alone and wish to share accommodations, we will try to match you with a roommate of the same gender. If you reserve at least 120 days ahead and request a roommate but one is not available, you will receive a $500 reduction from the standard single supplement (unless otherwise noted in the detailed itinerary for your specific trip).
Single Supplement for Custom Tours. Custom Tour prices are generally based on two or more participants; therefore, single supplements for “solo” Custom Tours will vary and are available upon request.
Boundless Journeys' trips are designed for active individuals who have a spirit of adventure. This hiking tour is rated 2, easy to moderate, on a scale of 1-5 (with 5 being the most strenuous). Brittany's coastal trails offer rolling, generally moderate terrain with occasional steep ascents or descents. We are never too far from sea level, with our greatest elevation gain being around 1000 feet. Our longest walks and hikes are all in the 3-4 hour, 6 mile range. We have plenty of village walking as well as fairly smooth to slightly rugged seaside paths.
Transportation to Perros Guirec at the start of the extension is by private transfer and is included in the tour price. At the end of the tour, we will arrange a transfer to either the Guingamp station (35 minutes to the station for a direct 2 hour 45 minute train to Paris) or the Lannion station (20 minutes to the station for a 4 hour train to Paris with one stop.)
Visas are not required for US citizens for arrival into France. A valid passport is required for all travelers to France. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay.
